It is often said that Japanese is a difficult language to learn. However, it is not a difficult language from a linguistic point of view, especially comparing with Russian and other Slavic languages that come with a long list of declensions. Moreover, unlike most Indo-European languages, it does not have subject-verb agreement rules. And surprisingly, Japanese nouns do not have plural forms and its sentence structure is rather simple. Considering these factors, it can be one of the easiest languages to speak. It’s a well-known fact that some Korean and Taiwanese translators who spent their childhood under Japanese rule are working as “Japanese translators” among numerous cost-sensitive English-speaking agencies. They can be passed as “Japanese-native speakers” and their writing skill may be much better than today’s Japanese kids, but well educated and demanding businessperson would not buy that! Exceline International wishes to hear from talented freelancers. Currently we are looking for translators who work in the following language pairs: - English to Japanese - Spanish to Japanese - French to Japanese - German to Japanese If interested, please feel free to contact us.
Selection Process A small test will be conducted in anonymity so that the result will not be influenced by other factors expect actual deliverables. Candidates are not required to include their full resume/CV as well as other personal information expects the followings: - Language pair(s) - Field(s) of expertise - Information on rates (per source word, hourly rate, minimum rate for ca. 100 words) In return, all candidates will receive a unique identity number. When a job that matches the profile of a candidate, s/he will be asked to perform a paid small translation test (As you can see, a paid test is an actual job). At this time, the candidate will be required to generate a Trados-compatible bilingual Word (but Trados is not mandatory). If the result is satisfactory, s/he will be asked to translate a larger text when another opportunity comes up. While going through many tests and checks, we build our team of reliable linguists that can be qualified as crème de la crème in the industry.
